LEECH & RIGDON REVOLVER 1461. Cal. 36. S# 1461. Bbl. 7.5". This is the highest serial number known of Leech & Rigdon revolver. This revolver was assembled in Augusta, Georgia from parts mostly completed at Greensboro, Georgia and fulfilled Confederate contract. Thomas Leech was no longer part of the firm which was now managed by Charles Rigdon. Revolver is in standard configuration with 7.5" half octagonal to round barrel with brass pin front sight “LEECH & RIGDON CSA” on top flat. Pistol has the rarely seen “WH” in diamond cartouche of Confederate inspector Wescom Hudgins. This revolver was manufactured in the spring of 1864. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: authentication report. CONDITION: good to very good overall, metal cleaned with scattered staining and pitting, small dents in cylinder, overall a mottled bright gray patina, brass has a mixed light to medium mustard patina. All original and complete including screws. Matching serial numbers are found on barrel, frame, cylinder, triggerguard, backstrap, loading arm, wedge, loading lever catch, and penciled in backstrap. Mechanically fine with crisp rifled bore.
