High Grade Belgium Bayard No.310 SxS Shotgun with Case
Made in Herstal, Belgium, circa 1920 by Bayard. 27-1/2" Demi-Bloc blued Bayard steel barrels with ejectors, bead front sight, and matted rib marked "Tested for Smokeless Powder". Barrels are 12 gauge with full and modified chokes and 2-3/4" chambers. Barrel breeches are chisel engraved with sideclips. Case-hardened full sidelock with full coverage engraved action with pheasant and dog scene on left and flying pheasant scene on right. Action is marked on left "ANC. ETABL. PIEPER HERSTAL BELCIQUE". Action has Greener style crossbolt with automatic safety, pierced opening lever, and double triggers. Circassian walnut pistol grip stock with skip-line checkering and leather covered recoil pad. Gun has matching walnut skip-line checkered splinter forearm with push button release. Comes with Bayard information and trunk case. Highest grade available at the time. LOP: 14". DAC: 1-1/2". CONDITION
90% original barrel blue with missing sling swivel stud. Small areas of pitting with usage marks. 80% fading action finish with sharp engraving. Wood has been cleaned with small handling marks. Good bores and crisp mechanics. Case is in good condition. Stock has plugged sling swivel hole in toe.
