SEMI-AUTOMATIC PISTOL WITH CUSTOM HOLSTER. Cal. 9x19mm Parabellum. S# 3097. Bbl. 4". First Issue, P.08 Luger semi-automatic pistol mfg. by DWM for the Imperial German military. The left side of the bbl. extension is marked with an Imperial Reichsadler, followed by two crowned DWM arsenal acceptance proofs. Toggle is marked with the intertwined "DWM" monogram. Right side of the frame exhibits a small arsenal proof, indicating that this example was later arsenal-retrofitted with a hold-open device. Front grip strap appears to have used to have had a unit marking but has been scrubbed. Major metal components exhibit a blue finish, with some smaller components, including the takedown lever, trigger, safety lever, and ejector, exhibiting a straw finish. Frame is mounted with 2-piece checkered wood grips. Matching numbers are present on the frame, takedown lever, sideplate trigger, hold-open device, bbl., bbl. extension, breechblock, toggles, and grips. Aluminum bottom mag. does not match. MAGS: 1 8-rd. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: custom brown leather holster. CONDITION: metal components retain large amounts of their arsenal blue finish, exhibiting wear and thinning overall that shows through to gray patina, with some scattered areas of light surface oxidation also present overall. Strawed components exhibit varying degrees of wear, with worn areas exhibiting scattered spots of darker age-related discoloration. Bore exhibits consistent mild to moderate pitting and retains fair rifling throughout. Grips exhibit smoothing and some scattered nicks and impressions, but otherwise remain sturdy and serviceable. Holster remains malleable, exhibiting scattered marks from handling and storage overall. (23-5687/MLW). CURIO. $1,000-1,500.
