INDIAN WAR ERA BELT RIG WITH EMBOSSED HOLSTER &
CIVIL WAR POUCHES. This attractive rig consists of a non-regulation belt without loops or rings. There is no sizing loop or holes, but the buckle is a standard Civil War-issue NCO style. Together with the belt is an Indian War-era black bridle leather holster with an embossed “US” on the flap. The inside top of the holster is marked “MADE BY J.I. PITTMAN N-Y”. The lot further includes a Civil War carbine box with a wooden insert to hold 20 cartridges. The box is marked on the inner flap “J. CUMMINGS. SPRINGFIELD. MASS.” and the outer flap has a partially visible inspector’s mark in an oval. The black bridle leather pistol box has a script “US” stamped on the lower left of the outer flap. The black bridle leather cap box is complete with pick and interior wool. The inner flap is marked “H.G. HAEDRICH PHILADA”. The outer flap has a partially visible inspector’s mark in an oval. CONDITION: the belt as well as the boxes generally show light wear with minor flexing and flaking.
