INTERESTING GROUPING OF THREE GERMAN WWII BAYONETS
NO.1: Model 1939 dress bayonet. 9 7/8" fullered blade. Bright plated bayonet is marked on left ricasso w/ "CARL EICKHORN SOLINGEN" & squirrel logo in oval. Checkered composite grips held by two rivets. Functional catch. Crossguard w/ curved finger guard. Bayonet made w/o flash guard. Steel scabbard w/ black lacquered finish. Black leather frog. CONDITION: bayonet has light wear & scattered spots of missing finish. Blade is unsharpened. Scabbard retains 50% original finish w/ wear, scratches & light oxidation. Frog has tight stitching, but w/ extensive wear & stretching. NO.2: Model 98K bayonet. 9 7/8" fullered blade. Blade is marked on left ricasso "CARL EICKHORN". Marked on right ricasso w/ serial number. Dated "40" on top of blade. Pommel is marked w/ two eagle "WAA 253". Brown composite grips. Matching steel scabbard w/ leather frog. CONDITION: bayonet retains 75% of its lightly worn blued finish w/ spots of light oxidation. Blade is unsharpened. Grips have light wear. Scabbard turning gray w/ patina. Frog has moderate wear & staining w/ areas of loose stitching. Frog also has Velcro glued to the back. NO.3: Model 98K bayonet. 9 3/4" fullered blade. Marked on left ricasso "44asw". Marked w/ serial number on right. Brown composite grips. Steel scabbard & partial leather frog. CONDITION: sharpened bayonet has traces of blue on blade w/ fine oxidation & pitting. Grip area is heavily oxidized. Catch does not function. Grips are complete, but worn. Scabbard has heavy wear, dents & oxidation. Frog has missing belt loop, tearing, staining & wear. (2-23216-3/RW). NON-GUNS. $200-400.
