Impressive and very early English brass cannon size rail or ships blunderbuss with “GR” cypher hand engraved and British proofs (George I) on the lock. Measures 44 ½” overall with a 28” barrel showing ringed andflared cannon style muzzle measuring almost 1 ¾” across the inner walls of the barrel. Total weight 20.5 pounds. Also marked “Tower” at the rear of the lock and “20” as rack or ships number. The barrel shows a great honeybrown patina as do the mounts. The steel shows a dark to gray natural patina with good markings. The stocks are good plus with minor dings but shows a large crack opening at the tang. We would date this gun about1700-1715. Shipping can take up to 6-8 weeks. Buyer pays all packing, material, handling, shipping costs and insurance. International Shipments will be sent to an exporter and buyer agrees to pay all costs incurred including all shipping costs, insurance, exporter fees and all custom & applicable duty fees.
