Interesting full stock transition Kentucky to Plains rifle with southern styling and silver inlay scratch engraved in block letters “MANNEN” by tradition a Texas pioneers rifle collected by early NorthernCalifornia collector. Measures 56” overall with a 41” barrel of approximately .38 caliber rifled (Note: barrel was originally 2”-6” longer and reduced long ago during use and nose cap repositioned. Pierced patch boxwith 5 pointed star. Six sheet silver inlays with two missing. Old frontier conversion to percussion. Characteristic steel half-moon escutcheon around single lock screw. Fair to good condition showing gray/brown patina onmetal with minor rust and erosion. The stock shows honest wear, damage to nose near muzzle, and missing inlays along with other minor imperfections. Uncleaned and “As Found” in Northern California by old collector. Agun that traveled west and could have begun life in the south or Texas. (Antique) Est.: $750-1500
