1) J. MANTON HAMMER SXS SHOTGUN. Cal. 12 GA. NSN. Bbl 28". Lockplates are marked "J MANTON" and feature a double line border with light scroll engraving. Laminated steel barrels with solid rib and brass bead front sight. Checkered wood buttstock and checkered splinter pattern forend. Buttstock does not retain its buttplate or upper buttplate screw. CONDITION: metal components exhibit a dark mottled gray patina, with areas of dark oxidation overall. Bright bores, exhibiting some scattered pitting throughout. Wood furniture shows scattered marks from handling and storage, but otherwise remains sturdy and serviceable. (23-1189/MLW). 2) CRESCENT ARMS "NEW LONG RANGE WINNER" SINGLE SHOT MODEL SHOTGUN. Cal. 12 Ga., 2 3/4". S# 36246. Genuine Armor Steel 32" bbl. w/ bead & full choke. Hammer break open action marked "NEW LONG RANGE WINNER" indicating sold by Sears & Roebuck Co. Walnut stock set w/ replacement period Abercrombie & Fitch hard rubber buttplate. Left side of buttstock punch dot marked "DAD'S 1905 / AND / MINE 1910"; right side craved "1917" w/ 5 consecutive holes. CONDITION: poor metal w/ heavy patina & pitting throughout. Forearm has large piece missing. Buttstock has fair worn finish w/ numerous marks & cracks. Poor pitted bore. PROVENANCE: From the estate collection of Thomas J. Mulligan. (23-1190/MD).
