NATIONAL MATCH / REMINGTON RAND 1911A1 SEMI AUTO PISTOL. Cal. 45 ACP. S# 1534532. Jim E Clark was a NRA Bullseye pistol competition shooter till 1975. Clark war the National Pistol Championship in 1958. He was a pistolsmith since 1950 & worn American Pistolsmith of the Year in 1985. This pistol was accurized by him in December 1963 as marked on bottom of slide. This pistol in particular started it's life as a 1944 Remington Rand pistol. After World War II, it most likely remained in military service until 1961 when it was overhaul into a National Match pistol by Springfield Armory as indicated by pistol's features & "SA" stamp on left side of frame. Bottom of slide has "532" matching number, Jim Clark address stamp & "1263" to indicate December 1963 date of customization. This pistol has a custom blued refinish that is matte on top of slide. National Match 5" barrel with matching S# applied & "7790313" part number. Slide has matching "4532" on left side, Patridge serrated front sight & Bo-Mar 2 7/16" base & square notch adjustable rear sight. National Match barrel bushing numbered "4267718". Frame has 1944 Remington Rand markings along with 'NM" on left side of triggerguard bow, "T" stamp on right side of frame & 1 punch mark on right side of frame. Front strap has added checkering. Aluminum National matching triggers with several punch marks on each side. Polished sides of hammer. Grooved flat mainspring housing. Keyes Fiber two piece brown plastic grips with scratch numbered "179" on bottom of right panel. MAGS: 1 - 7 rd. CONDITION: pistol has good reblued finish with handling & cycling wear. Good grips with flattening of diamonds. Shiny bore shows strong rifling. (25-526/MD). CURIO. $1,200-1,800.
