Japanese Samurai Hineno Zunari Kabuto
The Zunari Kabuto, also known as the Three-Plate Kabuto or Head-Shaped Kabuto, is a helmet worn by Japanese samurai as part of their armor (Yoroi). The Zunari Kabuto is made of iron and belongs to the category of Three-Plate Kabutos, as the helmet bowl is composed of three solid plates. There are two main versions known as Hineno Kabuto and Etchu Kabuto. The difference between these helmet versions lies in the way the central large plate interacts with the plate protecting the eyes: in the Hineno Kabuto, the central plate runs beneath the eye protection plate, while in the Etchu Kabuto, the central plate overlaps the eye protection plate. The Shikoro (Neck protector) consists of four Dutch leather plates (Lame) closely secured with brown cords, with the top lame turned back to form the Fukigayeshi (Temple protectors),left side has a partial Mon, missing on the right side. Has the Haraidate (Crest holder. The Mabisashi (Visor) is attached with four rivets fitted with chrysanthemum shaped washers. No linder. Early Edo period (1640-1680)
