A large japanned hat tin attributed to Antonio Lopez de Santa Anna. The tin measures 11& #34; tall by 16& #34; wide. The tin is painted black with scratches and dings. The latch and handle are present. Top lid has a plaque measuring 3& #34; by 2& #34; engraved & #34;General& #34; over & #34;Antonio Lopez de Santa Anna& #34; over & #34;Republic of Mexico& #34;. The plaque has some oxidation near the corners. This is a nice japanned hat tin that surely housed a very decorative hat worn by the General.
