KYRGYZSTAN MARCO POLO HUNT
Asian Mountain Outfitters offers a unique and adventurous mountain hunting experience in Kyrgyzstan, for one of most incredible mountain sheep in the world, the majestic Marco Polo. This is actually the Hume Argali, a subspecies of the Marco Polo sheep. The hunt date will be Oct. or Nov. 2016 or January 2017; it is approximately an 8-9 day trip, plus travel. This hunt is conducted on horseback/foot in high elevations (10,000-13,000ft). This is not a North American Hunt and hunters need to be prepared for cultural/language differences, long range and sometimes quick shooting (proficient at 500+ yards). The climates are similar to the high & dry areas of CO, NM and NV. All Kyrgyzstan hunting licenses and fees are included; however camp staff tips are additional. The winning bidder will have their name submitted to the USFWS, so that they will get USFWS CITES import permits. The U.S. CITES application with USFWS opens May 1st of each year and costs $100.00. Most of the hunting areas have a heated house or cabin and if spiking out, the hunter will use backpack style tents. A non-hunting companion is welcome for $2,500. If hunt space is available for an additional hunter, on the same hunt date, price is $26,500 for one Marco Polo. A Mid-Asian Ibex can be added to this hunt for an additional $5,000.00. Typical sizes for Marco Polo Rams are 44-52 inches and Ibex range average 37-45 inches. Considerably larger animals of both species have been taken. Generally the hunters will take the trophy(s) home as checked luggage, but a few of our hunters decide to have them shipped DHL, Fed Ex or Turkish Air Freight and cleared, using a Wildlife broker. The hunt is to be taken during the 2016/2017 season, but arrangements can be made to postpone hunt until 2017/2018 (with approval from Asian Mountain Outfitters; if Govt. fees increase, hunters pay this increase). The hunter is responsible for the flight to and from Bishkek via Turkish Air/Istanbul, meals and lodging while in Bishkek (usually 2 nights), extra baggage fees for taking home skin/skull or shipping of trophies home and staff tips (clients will be provided with Tip suggestions). Asian Mountain Outfitters works with partners in several different hunting areas in the Naryn and Issyk-kul Regions and can also arrange the Karalini (Tien Shan) for non-USA Hunters. Our Managers/partners will meet clients at airport and assist in all aspects of the hunts. The best local guides typically do not speak English, but are skilled hunters and horsemen. If it is your first trip to Central Asia, we can arrange a Western/English speaking guide to accompany you (price is $5,000 USD plus all their travel and trip expenses). Hunters who elect to hunt with just the local guides need to be able to assist in trophy judging & oversee the skin preparations. Bryan has conducted seminars at various conventions in the past, about equipment, shooting and what should be expected on such hunts. He has outfitted in Canada since 1999 and in Central Asia since 2002 and has personally been on many successful Marco Polo/Ibex hunts and will do his best to educate and prepare a hunter, before the trip. Usually he spends 40-60 days each year in Asia, to insure that AMO is very knowledgeable regarding all aspects of the hunts. Make sure to check out Asian Mountain Outfitters website, Kyrgyzstan Marco Polo and Ibex Hunting for more info._
