Koto period wakasashi (Medium sword) unsigned with full and fancy traditional mountings. 18” blade in full polish and unusual temper of cutting edge extending around the tip and to back edge. Minor opening to laminationfrom age (Over 400 years old) and imperfections to lamination. The mountings are 20th century restorations other than scabbard that shows some minor aging and damage. Large soft metal “Bug” overlaid toscabbard which is of the scabbards period. An unusual and early koto blade in presentable mountings. Est.: $1500-$3000

Shipping can take up to 6-8 weeks. Buyer pays all packing, material, handling, shipping costs and insurance. International Shipments will be sent to an exporter and buyer agrees to pay all costs incurred including all shipping costs, insurance, exporter fees and all custom & applicable duty fees.
