Koto period wakasashi (medium sword) with full and fancy traditional style mountings. The blade is 17 ½” in full polish with wide and bumpy full temper. Very minor imperfection and minimal openings to this 400 plus year old blade. Painted black on the brass tsuba with nicely matched fitting and menuki. Professionally re-wrapped grip in purple/ burgundy color. Antique kozuka knife in scabbard that is a good match. Very fancymulti-color scabbard in “Modern art” style though antique (Very attractive and unusual). A quality wakasashi suitable for advanced collector. Est.: $1500-$3000
