Krieghoff Classic grade double rifle, cal. .500 Nitro, Serial #95880. The rifle is in overall fine to nearly excellent condition with 23 ½” blued barrels. The barrels feature a milled quarter rib with scope base, 3 leaf express style rear, and ramp front sight with brass bead. The action is coin finished in the white and finely engraved with images of elephant and cape buffalo. The remainder of the action features tasteful scroll engraving on the base and tang. The finely checkered walnut stock has outstanding figure and graining, a schnable fore end, Pachmayr Old English recoil pad and a Bavarian style cheekpiece. The length of pull is 14 5/8” to the front trigger and the rifle weighs approximately 10 lbs. According to the consignor, the rifle was featured as a show gun at Safari Club International. It is purported to be one of the first large bore Krieghoff doubles imported and offered for sale. It is an outstanding combination of quality and caliber, ready for an African adventure.
