C96 SEMI-AUTOMATIC PISTOL WITH STOCK HOLSTER. Cal. 9x19mm Parabellum. S# 189720. Bbl. 5 5/8". C96 semi-automatic pistol, likely mfg. in China. Pistol is devoid of any identifying proofs, save for what appears to be an "MWNAZ0" (N is backwards) over the top flat of the chamber. Metal components exhibit a reapplied blue finish overall, save for on the trigger, safety lever, and extractor, which exhibit a nitre blue finish. Lock assembly and bolt are in-the-white. Flat side frame is mounted with 2-piece contemporary grooved wood grips. Blade front sight, with V-notch rear sight, graduated 50-1,000. Rear sight is erroneously marked "0001" instead of "1000". Bbl. features an unusual step, just forward of the chamber area. All serialized parts are matching and include the frame, lock frame, locking block, sear, hammer, safety lever, bbl./bbl. extension, bolt, as well as the bolt stop. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: Chinese wood stock holster. CONDITION: excellent, with metal components retaining bountiful amounts of their reapplied blue finish overall, with a few minute spots of pitting present under the bluing on the frame, beneath the grip panels. In-the-white parts are very good overall, with a few spots of age related discoloration. Very bright bore, exhibiting light pitting, while retaining well defined rifling throughout. Grips show scattered marks and a few minor impressions from handling and storage, but otherwise remain sturdy and serviceable. Stock exhibits some scattered marks and minor impressions. Stock body shows a large crack stemming from the top left corner of the body, with several smaller cracks present on the body at the hinge plate, that are visible on the interior. A very attractive, likely Chinese produced copy of the prolific Mauser C96 pistol. (24-6355/MLW). MODERN. $800-1,400.
