LONG RANGE SHOOTING SCHOOL
Mike Colpo, Lazy J Bar O Outfitters and Scott Olson
Dates June 9-11 or 16-18, 2017. This 3 day shooting school will not only help give you
good insight into long range hunting, it will also make you a better short range shooter too.
You will also learn from the outfitter’s perspective what is expected of you, the hunter, for
your next big game hunt. Your lead instructor is Alaska Master Guide, Mike Colpo, formerly
of the US Army Marksmanship Unit, Army Sniper School Instructor, US Team Member
and winner of many shooting disciplines. Our other instructors include NRA High Master
competitive shooters who have championship experience in the “Long Range Game”. This
school will teach you the skills to accurately make long range shots. By gaining the knowledge
of today’s science and technology, you will have the confidence necessary to accurately make
the long range shot if needed. Our goal is not to make you a “Long Range Hunter”, our goal
is to give you another tool on your hunt to help take that trophy of a lifetime. The school
takes place at the Shiloh Sharps Range, east of Big Timber, MT for the first 2 days. The
third day will be a field day where we will go into the hills and put those new skills to work.
Students will be shooting at targets under realistic hunting conditions up to 1000 yards away.
There will also be a special opportunity to shoot the instructors’ specialized rifles at targets
beyond a mile away. Lunch at the range will be included every day and an evening cookout
at Mike’s home south of Big Timber. Lodging is available in Big Timber. An accurate rifle
with a turret type scope and at least a 100 rounds of ammo is needed. Extra shooters are
welcome at $1500 per shooter, space is limited.
