SEMI-AUTOMATIC PISTOLS. 1) WALTHER MODEL 4 SEMI-AUTOMATIC PISTOL, BY F.W. KESSLER. Cal. 7.65mm. S# 94424. Bbl. 3 3/8". Walther Model 4 semi-automatic pistol mfg. by F.W. Kessler of Suhl, during World War I. Left side of the slide is marked "SELDSTLADE-PISTOLE CAL. 7,65. WALTHER'S PATENT." above the Walther banner logo, a Crown/N commercial nitro proof, and the S#. Left side of the frame is stamped "F.W.K." on the forward trigger guard bow, denoting sub-contracted mfg. by F.W. Kessler. Metal components exhibit a blue finish overall. Frame is mounted with 2-piece "CW" monogram checkered brown grips. Half-moon blade front sight, with V-notch rear sight. All serialized parts are matching and include the frame, slide, and bbl. shroud. MAGS: 1 8-rd. CONDITION: metal components retain good amounts of their original factory blue finish, exhibiting areas of wear and thinning that show through to gray patina, as well as scattered areas of light to mild surface oxidation and pitting overall. Bright bore, exhibiting consistent light to mild pitting and a couple of scattered spots of dark pitting, while retaining strong rifling throughout. Grips show scattered marks and nicks from handling and storage, but otherwise remain sturdy and serviceable. (24-7203/MLW). CURIO. 2) ASTRA MODEL 1921 SEMI-AUTOMATIC PISTOL. Cal. 9x23mm Largo. S# 13986. Bbl. 6". Model 1921 semi-automatic pistol mfg. by Astra for the Spanish military. Top of the slide is marked with the Astra logo towards the muzzle, with Astra's mfg. information, as well as the model and cal. designations marked at the rear. Left side of frame is marked with a Spanish military acceptance proof on the forward trigger guard web, with "SPAIN", the S#, as well as an IAC import mark, stamped on the right. Metal components exhibit a reapplied blue finish overall, save for on the bbl., trigger, and safety lever, which are polished in-the-white. Frame is mounted with 2-piece checkered brown synthetic grips. Half-moon blade front sight, with U-notch rear sight. All serialized parts are matching and include the frame, grip safety, trigger bar, slide, and bbl. MAGS: 1 8-rd. CONDITION: metal components retain the majority of their reapplied blue finish, exhibiting some areas of wear and thinning, with scattered spots of light to mild surface oxidation overall. In-the-white parts show areas of light pitting and age related discoloration. Poor pitted bore, retaining fair rifling throughout. Grips show smoothing and scattered marks from handling and storage, with several cracks stemming from the screw slots. (24-7239/MLW). CURIO. $400-600.
