SEMI-AUTOMATIC RIFLE & J.C. HIGGINS MODEL 5831 BOLT ACTION SHOTGUN. 1) WESTERN FIELD MODEL 880A-ECH SEMI-AUTOMATIC RIFLE. Cal. 22 LR. NSN. Bbl. 22". Model 880A-ECH semi-automatic rifle mfg. by Western Field. Top of bbl. is marked "WESTERN FIELD MOD. 880A-ECH CAL. .22 L.R.". Aluminum receiver and trigger guard exhibit a black enamel finish, with the steel bbl. and mag. tube exhibiting a blue finish overall. Plain wood pistol grip buttstock and forend. Blade front sight with square notch rear sight. Receiver is mounted with a Simmons Model 1022 4x32 scope. CONDITION: metal components exhibit some mild wear, with scattered handling marks present overall. Very bright bore, exhibiting scattered spots of pitting while retaining strong rifling throughout. Wood furniture shows some scattered marks and impressions from handling and storage but otherwise remains sturdy and serviceable. Scope retains a clear optic. (24-3811/MLW). 2) SEARS ROEBUCK / J.C. HIGGINS MODEL 5831 BOLT ACTION SHOTGUN. Cal. 12 GA, 2 3/4". NSN. Bbl. 28". Model 5831 bolt-action shotgun mfg. by J.C. Higgins for Sears Roebuck & Co. Left side of bbl. is marked "PROOF TESTED-12GA.FULL/ 2 3/4 CHAMBER," with "J.C. HIGGINS - MODEL 5831/ SEARS, ROEBUCK AND CO." marked on the left side of the receiver. Metal components exhibit a blue finish overall, save for the bolt assembly, which is polished in-the-white. Plain wood pistol grip buttstock. Brass bead front sight. CONDITION: metal components retain large amounts of their original factory blue finish, exhibiting wear and thinning that shows through to gray and brown patinas, with scattered spots of light surface oxidation present overall. Mirror bore. Action functions appropriately when cycled by hand. Wood stock exhibits scattered marks and impressions from handling and storage but otherwise remains sturdy and serviceable.
