Lot of assorted bayonets, including: 1) 3 French Model 1874 Gras bayonets produced by a variety of mfgs. Steel blades and quillon guards. Handles are comprised of 2-piece wood scales, with a brass pommel. Complete with steel scabbards. CONDITION: blades exhibit scattered spots of age related discoloration and small spots of dark oxidation, with 1 blade exhibiting areas of dark age related discoloration and pitting. Guards exhibit a gray patina, with 1 exhibiting a dark gray patina and pitting overall. Wood scales show scattered marks from handling and storage, with the pommels exhibiting a brown patina. Scabbards exhibit wear and thinning, with areas of oxidation overall, with 1 exhibiting a dark pitted surface. 2) Argentine Model 1909 bayonet. Steel blade, hooked quillon guard, and pommel. 2-piece smooth wood scales. Left side of ricasso is marked "WEYERSBERG/ KIRSCHBAUM & Co/ SOLINGEN", with a partial Argentine crest marked on the right. Complete with scabbard. CONDITION: blade exhibits scattered dark spots of oxidation and pitting, and has been heavily sharpened. Quillon guard, pommel, and scabbard have been painted black, exhibiting heavy pitting and scattered spots of surface oxidation. Wood scales show scattered marks and impressions from handling and storage, but otherwise remain serviceable. 3) Unidentified saber type bayonet mfg. in Germany. Left side of the ricasso is marked "WEYERSBERG/ KIRSCHBAUM & Co/ SOLIGEN". Polished steel blade, with steel quillon guard and pommel. Handle is comprised of brass. Complete with blued steel scabbard. CONDITION: blade exhibits scattered areas of dark oxidation and discoloration, with some scattered nicks and chips to the blade edge. Guard and pommel exhibit a dark brown patina. Brass handle exhibits a mellow patina. Scabbard shows oxidation overall. 4) Unidentified Mauser pattern blade bayonet. Right side of ricasso is marked "53817". 2-piece flat checkered wood scales, with iron guard and pommel. Complete with a brown leather scabbard with steel fittings. CONDITION: bayonet exhibits sharpening marks and a rounded point, with areas of oxidation present overall. Guard and pommel exhibit a gray patina, with scattered areas of oxidation overall. Left grip scale exhibits gouging, with a crack present on the right stemming from the upper pin. Leather scabbard remains malleable, with metal fittings exhibiting varying degrees of oxidation overall. 5) Unidentified Mauser pattern bayonet. Left side of ricasso is marked "WEYERSBERG/ KIRSCHBAUM & Co/ SOLINGEN", with a star within a shield and 3 intertwined circles marked on the right. Steel blade, guard, and pommel, with 2-piece smooth wood scales. Complete with steel scabbard. CONDITION: blade exhibits scattered spots of pitting and areas of age related discoloration. Guard and pommel exhibit a gray patina, with scattered spots of dark oxidation. Wood scales show some scattered marks and impressions from handling and storage, but otherwise remain sturdy and serviceable. Scabbard retains traces of its blue finish, with the balance exhibiting a gray patina, with several scattered dings and impressions. 6) Yugoslavian M44 bayonet. Right side of ricasso is marked with Cyrillic characters above "44". Blued blade. Steel blade, guard, and pommel, with 2-piece smooth wood scales. Complete with steel scabbard and brown leather frog. CONDITION: blade retains the majority of its blue finish, exhibiting some mild wear, with scattered spots of oxidation. Guard, pommel, and scabbard exhibit oxidation overall. Grip scales show scattered handling marks. Frog remains malleable, exhibiting some wear, age related cracking, and discoloration overall. 7) British No. 4 MK II spoke bayonet. Blade is in-the-white, with the socket exhibiting a black painted finish. Complete with blued steel scabbard and black leather frog. CONDITION: good, with some age related discoloration and light to mild pitting. Scabbard shows wear and thinning through to gray patina, with light surface oxidation overall. Scabbard remains malleable, exhibiting some wear overall. (02-22949-4/MLW). $300-500.
