Large pewter engraved and inscribed presentation tankard, approximately 12.5” in height by famed maker Reed & Barton and marked on the base including number “024 0 S”. The piece is in overall very good to fine condition and has a beautiful dark patina with a large spread eagle over the Union Shield engraved on the front and displays the inscription “Mayor’s Cup/Prize Drill/Co. K/8th Inf./M.V.M/Won by/Corporal W.J. Hoppe/Feb. 14, 1907”. Would be interesting to further research Corporal Hoppe’s military records. Est.: $200-$400.
