Late Kentucky style rifle signed “J. Gibbs” of Homesdale, Penn. (Wayne County) with H. Elwell signed lock. Measures 53 ½” overall with 38” barrel in approximately .36 caliber rifled. The stock is a light maple color and shows naturalgrain and has been lightly refinished using a synthetic varnish with very little if any sanding. The stock shows a large stress crack on the right side from trigger guard to the butt plate. The metal is very good with patina and light rust. Agood rifle that would much improve by a stripping and correct oiling or varnish. (Antique) Est.: $900-$1800
