Manufactured 1902. 12 gauge. 28" barrels. 14.50" length of pull. About 2.75" chambers. Modified and Cylinder chokes. Blued metal finish to barrels and triggerguard, with case hardened finish to frame and parts. Two piece walnut stock, Prince of Wales grip is smooth, splinter forearm has worn checking, with a non factory 1" rubber recoil pad. Break action side by side hammerless shotgun with a solid matte rib and steel bead front sight, missing the mid bead. Item features double triggers, single extractor, cocking indicators, snap forend release, and sliding tang safety. Engravings include some floral scroll, incised line borders, rosette screws,and sunburst motifs overall to receiver and parts. Receiver also features game scenes of a long-billed Dowitcher to left side and a mallard duck to right side. Markings include LEFEVER ARMS CO. to both sides of frame and patent date marks Patented 1872. / 80. 85. 86. 87. to bottom of receiver. Serial number is marked to the water table, and under left barrel as well as an F marking indicating grade of finish. Barrels are also marked with 'Hammered fluid steel' marks.( Charles Clement & Neumann Freres). The Barrels have turned a brown patina, receiver and bottom metal have turned a gray/brown patina, action is sound with tight lock-up, wood is overall very good, with a couple of minor hairline cracks in the lower buttstock, bores are very good/bright, need cleaning.
