Lehigh County, Pennsylvania Style Buck and Ball Percussion Kentucky Rifle
Kentucky buck and ball percussion rifle similar to rifles made in Lehigh Co., PA, circa 1820. This rifle measures overall 58" with a 42-3/4" octagon to round 50 caliber smoothbore barrel with rifle sights. Rifle appears to have been possibly flint at one time and was converted using a patent breech "Spies" marked percussion lock with two bolt brass sideplate and single trigger control. Full curly maple stock with brass hardware and coin silver thumbpiece and cheek inlay. Comes with replacement hardwood ramrod. CALIBER: 50. FFL STATUS: Antique.
CONDITION
Overall fair with metal having been cleaned. Wood has been cleaned and is missing 4" section near muzzle along with nosecap. Stock is cracked through back at trigger and is missing wood around lock. Pitted bore with mechanics needing attention.
