Lot includes M1859 Civil War Era US Calvary Carbine Sockets. These would attach to the saddle to keep the rifle barrel from moving around when the carbine attached to the sling.  These were used until the adoption of the carbine boot in 1884.   **Overall in very good condition. All four carbine sockets have tight stitching and the full buckles and straps are present. The leather on the sockets themselves are all in very good shape with some very light cracks and a few small chips. The leather on the straps also has some light cracking but is not brittle and is still flexible. Some paint chipping and loss to the buckles, but not bent or broken. ** $350-$500
