Lot Includes: 1-Model 1874 Cavalry Shoemaker bit.  The bit has some brass brazed repairs.  On the one the inside and the lower bar and rings have some brass braze repairs. 1-Rare US Cavalry curb bit M1859 Civil War bit later production 1863-1865. This variation was converted to use the leather curb strap rather than the Civil War curb chain with leather civil war link strap with figure-8 style variant buckle and M1874 curb strap. 1-M1859 Cavalry Curb bit no. 4 featuring a standard port in the center of the mouth piece and chain strap. This is a later production 1863-1865.  It has the heavier profile and the shorter curve as compared to the early bits from 1859-1862 with slender elongated curve. It is more than likely a civilian contractor produced bit as it has flared shoulder of the boss as compared to straight on arsenal produced. Lower Bar has been replaced at some point and the side of bit has been soldered. **Bits have some finish loss and have some surface rust and patina. Two have been soldered/brazed at some point (looks to have been done early). All US emblem rosettes are intact. Leather shows some wear and light cracking but still pliable. Overall in good to excellent** $600-$800
