CMR is an adult playground that is spectacularly beautiful and serene. Far from the turmoil of modern living, the lifestyle offered at the ranch together with the uniquely adventuresome sporting activities will be truly a once in a lifetime experience. The Teepee Lodge is a new and modern architectural wonder built along the edge of the Canadian River Canyon with its two massive metal-alloy decks cantilevered over the cliff edge. It boasts eight well-appointed contemporary suites with King-size beds, each including a living room and private bathroom and all showcases the incomparable river canyon view. Common areas are large, user friendly and face the majestic canyon as well. CMR also features the landmark Encierro Canyon, a box-canyon that is a geographic wonder showcasing a sea of red clay interrupted by bursts of giant deep crevices of other-worldly proportions. Guests will feel overwhelmed by this landscape of “National Geographic” significance and be spoiled by activities guided by capable guides that are breathlessly exciting and strikingly uncommon.
The two pillars of CMR’s touted extreme activities are our Firearms Wonderland and Equestrian Paradise. Our gun ranges have everything you may want from novice to expert including a pistol range, a rifle range providing a wide range of weaponry (including especially AR-15s and hunting rifles), long-range shooting (including scoped Kiote‘s Rougaroo ELR and Overland-Match rifles (for 1-2.5 mile targets) and even 50 cal. Barrett M82-A1 mounted on an Iraq War retired humvee. A championship Sporting Clay course, a Trap course and an archery range completes CMR's weapons-related sporting activities.
CMR’s Equestrian Paradise offers trail rides of unparalleled beauty around canyon edges, rides down into the gorgeous river canyon and excursions to nineteenth century Indian and homestead sites. For experienced riders, CMR can offer reining, cutting, barrel racing, cow herding and even English-riding to include dressage, jumping and eventing. Both a cross-country course and endurance trails are available for both beginners and experts. The ranch also boasts a large covered arena and adjacent horse stalls that permit training and lessons.
Other activities include ATV/UTV rides and rock crawling, spectacular hiking, and seasonal activities that include kayaking, fishing and hunting. A plethora of games and activities are available at the Teepee Lodge during inclement weather. The lodge kitchen endeavors to serve food that is uncommon: focusing on menus that is healthy and organic and featuring more exotic game meat at times with intriguing spices and tastes. CMR can accommodate most dietary restrictions and preferences if notified in advance at time of booking.
The Canyon Madness Ranch experience is for those that yearn for the best of scenic beauty and the best of adventurous activities. Escape the hectic nature of your daily lives and enjoy a luxurious outdoors paradise like never before. CMR reminds you of a time in the wild wild West more than a hundred years ago yet allows you to experience twenty-first century comfort. While luxuriating in modern conveniences, live the lifestyle of those that migrated from East to the West along these canyons during the nineteenth century. Amidst this primitive beauty, one can easily imagine that one can be suddenly challenged by Apache Indians on horseback --- what an eerie feeling for one living in the twenty-first century!
Very few if any vacation destinations can offer both serenity and excitement in a setting of breathless scenic beauty and modern-day luxury. Canyon Madness Ranch is one of those rare places on earth. Join us and you will be forever transformed!
