Markings:The top of the receiver is marked “U.S. CARBINE / CAL. .30 M1.
The right side of stock does have a cartouche of crossed cannons in a circle on it..
hard to see exactly what it is..
The top of the barrel has a P and a W on it plus one stamping thats not legible..

Barrel Length: 18 Inches

Sights / Optics: The front sight is a post set between two protective wings.
The rear sight is an adjustable Type II aperture assembly.

Stock Configuration & Condition: The stock has a pistol grip, metal barrel band with
sling loop & bayonet lug, sling well, sling pass through and a metal buttplate.
The buttplate shows light wear. The wood shows various scrapes & scratches that
would be conducent to usual use.
The LOP measures 13 1/4 inches from the front of the trigger to the back of the
buttplate. The stock rates in about Very Good overall condition.. has a screw hole in
opening where sling would pass through. Has numbers 4 (hole) 597 on stock which
indicates same as receiver so original stock.

Bore Condition: The bore is bright. The grooves near the muzzle are light grey.
The rifling is crisp.

Overall Condition: This rifle retains about 95% of its metal finish. The barrel and
front sight show scrapes, thinning and spots of discoloration from oxidation.
The metal shows other light scrapes & handling marks.
The screw heads show light use. The markings are deep. Overall, this rifle rates in
about Very Good condition.

Mechanics: The action functions correctly.

This is a RESTRICTED Firearm and will need to be transfered only to persons with
Restricted PAL.
