M1904 Russet leather saddle bags of the second pattern where the leather has been overlapped. & #34;US& #34; Embossed on each flap and Marked with a nice & #34;Spaulding MFG& #34; Mark & amp; Dated 1918, A Large quantity produced in World War 1 leaving an immense surplus in 1919. No new leather bags were made after that time but these bags were modified to produce an improve bag in 1924. These saddle bags have two holes across the top where they were attached to a commercial saddle at some point. On the Model 1904 saddle.
***Leather is supple with no cracking, holes, or tears.
All straps, rivets, buckles, and plates are present and stitching is tight. Overall in excellent condition***
