“Drop Zone”
I’m not pandering in the least when I say that, as a wildlife artist born and raised in southeast Idaho, my favorite subject matter has always been mule deer. Many of my choicest memories involve chasing these marvelous animals in the foothills and high country with rifle, bow, muzzleloader, and camera. In creating this piece for the MDF my hope was to capture something exciting and nostalgic for those who, like me, love this animal and, in particular, have an affinity for observing them during the rut. My decision to produce this in a black and white format (using only Ivory Black and Titanium White in my palette) stemmed from a desire to give this piece a unique twist. I don’t see a lot of black and white oil paintings out there and hoped that would make this something of a rarity in the realm of mule deer art.

All sales are final. Items purchased in the auction must be paid in full at time of winning bid.
