MODEL 1906 SWISS DWM COMMERCIAL LUGER, CORRECT

HOLSTER & STRAP.
Cal. 7.65mm Luger. S# 25986. This is a scarce example of an early Swiss/DWM Model 1906 Commercial as manufactured circa 1927. There were only approximately 1250 produced in this serial number that ranged from 25771-27020. This standard configuration M1906, rust blued with strawed or fire blued small parts, has the usual improved, checkered toggle, wider trigger, wider grip safety, third pattern thumb safety lever and the new coil spring frame. It retains the Swiss Cross in Sunburst over the chamber area with the DWM monogram on the front toggle. M1906 Commercial proofs include a Crown B, G and U proof marks on the underside of the barrel along with a intertwined Swiss BP proof. The left side of the barrel extension and breech block are stamped with a Crown B and U proof. The left side of the breech block is also stamped with a Swiss CN + proof mark. The extractor and safety are marked with GELADEN and GESICHERT. Checkered walnut grips. Disassembly shows all matching numbers except grips that are unnumbered. MAGS: one good plus tin plated with unnumbered wood base marked with triangle in circle near spine. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: the holster is near excellent with a nice even brown finish showing only minor scuffing on the back side of the toe with light age cracking on top of the flap and intact stitching. Early, unmarked, Swiss 1906 Commercial pattern holster and shoulder strap. CONDITION: presenting nicely, with 98% of an arsenal refurbished type blue, the frame having been dipped, with minor edge and high spot wear, the smaller parts retaining 25% of their straw colors. Discreetly import marked using a fine laser etching method in an unobtrusive area. The grips are also very good, with nice distinct checkering, showing light wear across the tops of the checkering mixed with some light handling marks. The bore is in near excellent condition and the action hand cycles and dry fires correctly. PROVENANCE: From the esteemed collection of Paul Regnier, Switzerland. (20-1428/LA). CURIO. $3,000-5,000.
