Action Type: Lever Action Rifle with Full-Length Tubular Magazine

Markings: The top of the barrel is marked MARLIN FIRE-ARMS CO. NEW-HAVEN,
CT. U.S.A. / PATENTED OCT. 11. 1887. APRIL 2. 1889. AUG. 1. 1893 and 30-30 at
the receiver. The left shoulder of the barrel next to the rear sight is marked
SPECIAL SMOKELESS STEEL.
The top of the receiver is marked MARLIN SAFETY.
The upper tang is marked MODEL / 1893. The bottom of the receiver is marked with
the serial number.

Barrel Length: 26 inch Octagonal

Sights / Optics: The front sight is a forward sloping blade slotted in a base that is
dovetailed to the receiver. The rear sight is a buckhorn with a U-notch and an
elevator piece that is dovetailed to the barrel. The upper tang is drilled, tapped and
filled in two places for the installation of a tang sight.

Stock Configuration & Condition: The stocks are two-piece smooth walnut with a
capped forearm, straight grip, straight comb, and a crescent steel buttplate.
The wood shows scattered marks throughout. The stock may have been refuinished.
There are no major chips or cracks. A small 1.5 inch crack is evident at butt stock on
righthand side ..Butt plate is clear plastic and not original.

The LOP measures 13 1/8 in from the front of the trigger to the back of the buttplate. The buttplate shows faint pitting and has been polished bright. The stocks rate in about Good-Very Good overall condition

Type of Finish: Entire gun with exception of mag tube and lever has a brushed finish.
Consignor states this is a factory finish but we can find no record of such.

Bore Condition: The bore is dark with erosion throughout. The rifling is well defined. There is an M.E. of 0.0.

Mechanics: The action functions correctly. However, the take down mechanism is
stiff and we could not take it down. The hammer has a half-cock safety position
