Marlin XX. Standard 1873 .22 LR SN: 9656
22 Long (black powder), 3 inch round ribbed barrel with a dark bore with strong rifling and light pitting. This is the J. M. Marlin XX Standard 1873 Pocket Revolver manufactured from 1873-1887. (5000 produced) The spur trigger pocket revolver has very nice markings with the left barrel “J.M. MARLIN NEW-HAVEN. CT. U.S.A. PAT. JULY.1.1873” and the rib “XX STANDARD 1873”. The barrel, frame and cylinder retain about 90% of the original bright nickel finish with some tiny spots of flaking, the cylinder flutes are dark. The checkered hard rubber grips are very good, marked "M.F.A. Co.". The lock up is tight with a hint of movement, excellent timing and crisp hammer pull and trigger. There is what appears to be a small weld repair on the frame behind the trigger. Round, pinned side plate.
NRA Condition-Very Good to Fine. Antique Firearm.
