The second area, to the East of the island, is the birthplace of the Rusa/Java deer, which landed in Mauritius in the 17th century. This area produces the most beautiful trophies of the island thanks to its luxurious and abundant vegetation. Only recently, hunters from abroad have had the opportunity to hunt this magnificent game in its endemic forest covered mountains. Rare and almost unique, hunting the Rusa/Java deer is one of the most thrilling forms of hunting in the world. A big stag weighs on average 260 lbs and has antlers measuring over three feet. This walk and stalk hunt will make for an unforgettable experience. The hunting season starts on the 1st of June till end of November. It is guaranteed that this safari will exceed your highest expectations! Includes: five (5) day, four (4) night safari/resort package with 4 nights’ daily rates for one hunter and one non-hunter on a bed and breakfast basis in the exquisitely luxurious five star Sugar Beach Resort & Spa, a licensed professional hunter, two (2) days walk & stalk hunt for one hunter for rusa deer, lunch and drinks during the hunt, rifle rental and bullets, exclusive usage of the hunting grounds during the walk and stalk hunts, hunting permit, field prep of all trophies, airport and hunting transfers.
