Mauser Gewehr 98M 8mm S/N 5530 Rebuilt WWI era German military bolt action service rifle chambered in 8mm Mauser. Manufactured by Mauser, Oberndorf circa 1916 and imported by CAI, St. Albans, Vermont. Features a 29" barrel, rampedfront sight, 2,000 meter graduated rear sight, unmarked side mounted scope base #334, Oigee 4x 26mm scope #305004, Imperial proofed receiver, two barrelbands, bayonet lug, sling swivels, safety switch on bolt, and wood handguard & semi-pistol grip shoulder stock with smooth metal buttplate. Serial numbers match on barrel & receiver. Wood stocks bare many markings and are near good in condition with above average blemishes. Rifle's finish has drifted to a dark grey on the barrel and to a light brown patina on most other metal surfaces with pitting on bolt release lever. Action is smooth, bore is very good, and optics are clear with little wearon scope tube. Condition is good+. ***C&R/MODERN EST:$900.00 - 1,800.00
