Made by Massachusetts Arms Company under Edward Maynard Patents circa 1882. 28" blued half octagon rifled barrel in 38-50 caliber with Wind gauge front sight and plugged rear sight Vernier tang peep sight. Second barrel is a 28" blued round 20 gauge shotgun barrel with lever case-hardened action marked "1882" with a Maynard Patents marking. Has a central hammer and plain single trigger. Figured walnut checkered pistol grip stock with brass Swiss butt plate and matching checkered splinter forearm. J.T. Livengood Collection. CALIBER: 38-50/20G. S/N: 13860. FFL STATUS: Antique.
CONDITION
Retains 85% fading barrel blue on both barrels with silvery patches and handling areas. Traces of case-hardening in protected areas. Wood has a dark oil-soaked appearance with worn checkering. Good bores and mechanics.
