The Miller Brothers 101 Ranch was an 110,000 acre cattle ranch in the Indian Territory of Oklahoma before statehood. Located near modern day Ponca City, it was founded by Colonel George Washington Miller, a veteran of the Confederate Army, in 1893. The 101 Ranch was the birthplace of the 101 Ranch Wild West Show. n 1903, when Colonel George Miller died, his three sons, Joseph, George Jr., and Zack took over operation of the ranch. The back of the case is engraved in large block letters "Miller Bros Ponca City" with "101" in circle in the middle. the inside of the back cover is engraved in script "J. Miller". The dial and movement are unmarked, the gold case has British hallmarks including a crown, could indicate that the watch was assayed and hallmarked at the Sheffield assay office. "F" indicating foreign origin, "18" and "JY".
Yates Brothers, Sheffield. Key wind, no key so unknowm if is running. There is a very good possibility that the watch belonged to Joseph Miller. Includes a sterling silver 101 Ranch watch fob with steer motif marked Guniti.
