Model 1860 Tower Enfield percussion rifle with rare front barrel band bayonet lug, bayonet and leather sheath, .58 caiiber, 33” barrel, woven and leather sling, wood stock in overall very good + condition showing a dark patina to barrel, crispaction and very good wood stock with normal wear; also “S.N.J.” stamped on the left side of the stock above the trigger guard and on top of the butt stock; also numerous British proof marks visible. Notes from consignor indicate hisopinion that this gun was sold to the State of New Jersey on contract when the U.S. Government would not buy them. Consignor’s note further indicates this to be a Bannerman purchase. (Antique). Est.: $1,000-$2,000.
