Modern Reproduction of a Mexican War Era Colt Model 1847 Walker Percussion Revolver, #4495, .44 cal., 6-3/8'' part octagonal-part round barrel with a small brass post front sight is marked on top flat ''Property of Wells Fargo'' (spurious); steel frame is marked ''Colt'' (spurious) midway on left side; round 6-shot cylinder is roll-engraved with a scene of Rangers engaged in fighting Indians on horseback; steel backstrap and brass triggerguard, with one-piece oil-finished walnut grips. Barrel was shortened from its original length of 9''; loading lever shortened correspondingly. This revolver has been artificially aged to an overall rusty brown-gunmetal gray coloration with associated nicks and scratches; cylinder scene is mostly clear; brass has an aged patina. Grips are sound with scattered dings and fit well. All visible serial numbers match. Action functions; bore appears dark with visible rifling. Est.: $250-$500. (No FFL Required)
