The New Mexico Department of Game and Fish (NMDGF) will auction a 5 species New Mexico Big Game Enhancement Package. This unique auction item includes state-wide licenses for Elk, Deer (Mule deer or White-tail), Pronghorn, Persian (Bezoar) Ibex, and Gemsbok oryx. All have extended seasons and any weapon may be used. The current World Record Pronghorn (B& C 96 4/8) was taken on this package in 2013. The SCI World Record Persian ibex (non-native range) is from New Mexico and the Florida Mountains consistently produce world class billies. New Mexico’s Rio Arriba county has placed more mule deer in the Boone and Crockett record book than any county in the United States. New Mexico elk hunting is world renowned and produces 400-class bulls annually.

As authorized by state law, the New Mexico Big Game Enhancement Program will receive 90% of the proceeds for projects to benefit big game habitat enhancement, conservation, and protection with 10% of the proceeds retained by the Wild Sheep Foundation. Anyone, including previous special permit holders, may submit a bid to obtain the 2021 New Mexico Big Game Enhancement Package unless their hunting privileges have been revoked. The permits may be transferred by the successful bidder to any individual qualified to hunt. The successful bidder on this package may hunt all 5 species or barter/trade/sell any license authorization he or she does not intend to hunt. Please contact any of the New Mexico Department of Game and Fish biologists for more information on this hunt.
