COMPANY WITH SCOPE. Cal. 16 Ga., 2 3/4" / 6.5x57 R. S# 992197. The 24 7/8" bbls. are fitted w/ claw bases, pop up U-notch rear & silver bead front sights in full length matted rib. Top of bbl. is marked w/ steel type, top of left "SIMSON SUHL" "MADE IN GDR". Bottoms of bbls. are stamped w/ January 1980 East German Nitro proofs for 16 Ga., 2 3/4" and 6.5x57 R cartridges. Coin finished blitz action w/ rifle/shotgun selector on top tang features Greener side safety, pin cocking indicators, crossbolt third fastener, sideclips, reinforced frame & double triggers (front set). Action is engraved w/ sprays of well cut shaded scroll w/ lighter scroll background & geometric borders. This treatment surrounds well done game scenes on sides. Bellowing stag on left & pair of ducks on right. Steel trigger guard has matching scroll on bow. Lightly marbled European walnut capped pistol grip buttstock measures 15" over black "Whiteline" pad & features slight hogback to comb, shadowline righthand cheekpiece, point pattern grip checkering, hard rubber pistol grip cap & sling loop matching the one soldered to bbl. Matching splinter forend has Deeley release. Rifle is mounted w/ good quality German 8 power scope w/ crosshair & three post reticle in screwed on claw rings, rear w/ windage. MEASUREMENTS: SHOTGUN BBL: Bore Diameter: R .670", L .670". Restriction: R .003" (IC), L .034" (FULL). Min. Wall Thickness: R .033", L .030". STOCK: DAH: 2 3/4". DAC: 1 9/16". DA REAR OF HOGBACK: 2". LOP: 15". CAST: neutral. WEIGHT: 7 lb. 13 oz. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: black plastic case. CONDITION: very good, bbl. retaining approx. 70% original blue. Action shows most of its original French gray or coin finish w/ some light cleaning, engraving remains fine. Stocks retain most of what appears to be their original finish w/ some added oil on butt w/ installation of old pad. Checkering is somewhat worn. Shotgun bores are bright and shiny. Rifle bore shows some light frosting. Action is tight. Mechanically fine. Scope shows a considerable number of scuffs in its lacquer finish & some rubs through w/ loss of maker's name, optically a bit clouded. (22-4956/MGM). MODERN. $1,500-2,500.
