**Exhibitor** This is a premier brown bear hunt conducted in one of Southwest Alaska’s most pristine and wild coastal hunting regions. Past Badgerland president, Randy Mayes as well as other Badgerland members have taken brown bears on this hunt. Justin has been guiding in Togiak since 1987. This exclusive use Federal Refuge Area is remote and beautiful with an excellent bear population. This area is conducive to spot and stalk hunting. It has open, rolling tundra hills laced with blueberry, cranberry and crowberry bush covered mountainsides. Low in the valleys the salmon from Bristol Bay spawn in small streams. These resources provide a rich abundance of food for the bears in this ideal habitat. Hunting is done by glassing from vantage points. When a good bear is spotted, the stalk begins. Bears are typically viewed each day. A hunter wishing to harvest a trophy needs to be in good physical condition in order to hike and capitalize on any opportunity a large bear presents. A hunter in reasonably good physical condition should have opportunities to see and stalk large, male bears in the 8 ½’ to 10’ squared size range. Lightweight and minimalistic, these are true down to basics hunts. The camps are comfortable but simple. It consists of 10 x 10 dome tents with cots, a 4’ x 7’ gear tent, a cook stove and lantern. Due to the remoteness of these camps, aircraft logistics, and “no impact” camp restrictions, we go into these areas as light as possible. This is a 1 on 1 hunt. A 100% mental and physical effort by the hunter is required on this hunt. Included: Exclusive Federal brown bear hunt permit, all equipment, camp, food etc., guiding, trophy field care, facilitation of shipping your trophy to D&C Expeditors in Anchorage. NOT included: Bush flight from Dillingham ($1500), arrival or departure nights in Dillingham, hunting/fishing license, bear tag, shipping of trophy to expeditor in Anchorage, an applicable export permits and gratuities. NOTE: The hunting season is late August and September. This hunt is to be taken on available dates in the 2023 or 2024 season. It is imperative that the winning bidder contact the outfitter as soon as the hunt is purchased to secure dates.
