2017 SCI Outfitter of the Year and repeat donor, Shane Black and Canada North Outfitting offer this unique opportunity to experience a true Arctic hunting adventure and an incredible cultural experience! The high bidder on this item will hunt Atlantic Walrus with Inuit guides in the Nunavut Territory. This is a summer hunt to be conducted by boat during the month of July or August 2020 and cannot be deferred to an alternate year. This is an Ice Haul-Out hunt. Hunter will travel by boat along with two or three Inuit guides to the large ice flows that the Atlantic Walrus herds occupy. Hunter and guide will disembark onto the ice flow and stalk the Walrus – typically to within 40 yards of the walrus herd. This hunt includes the use of a motorized boat, gas and oil; services of experienced Inuit guides; all meals while out hunting; use of a personal flotation suit to be worn while on the boat; extraction of tusks and baculum bone; and a Federal Marine Mammal Walrus Hunting License. The arrival and departure points for this hunt will be Ottawa, Canada. Hunter is responsible for a number of expenses that total approximately $4,650. A partial list of hunter expenses include costs for transportation to and from Ottawa, Canada; a one-night hotel stay in Ottawa before and after the hunt; accommodations and meals during the hunt (Inuit community hotel); Canadian firearms permit; General Administration fee; Arctic flight and booking fee; Arctic Wildlife Research Fund fee; all airline fees; packing and shipping of trophy; all optional insurances; taxidermy; and tips paid directly to guides (consult the Canada North Outfitting website for a complete list of specific hunter’ costs). This hunt may be upgraded to include additional hunters ($13,250) and/or non-hunters. If you are seeking a real hunting adventure and cultural experience, take a trip to the “Top of the World” with Canada North Outfitting! Several hunters with whom we have discussed this trip have described the experience as one of, if the not the very best, hunting experience they have ever had!

Please Note: The U.S. Marine Mammal Protection Act prohibits the importation of any part of a marine mammal (Walrus) into the United States. Meat harvested during this hunt is part of the Canadian Subsistence allocation provided to the Inuit guides’ family/community – as such, all harvested meat will belong to the Inuit guides. Trophies harvested will remain in the Inuit community where harvested and will be shipped directly to a recommended taxidermist within several weeks of the hunter’s departure. Skulls are tracked by Canada North until they have arrived safely at the taxidermy studio where exact Walrus Tusk replicas are reproduced for display.
