PUMP RIFLE. Cal. 22 S,L,LR. S# 78943. Bbl. 24 1/2" round w/ sporting sights. Action has F grade engraving. Vignette on right side features a running cottontail rabbit. Left side features 2 squirrels. Scenes are surrounded by vine type foliate scroll that extends to upper & lower action areas, trigger guard bow & breech end of bbl. Engraver's initials that appear to be "BR5" are located at the bottom of the left side game scene. Forearm & hard rubber capped pistol grip stock of fancy black walnut w/ original buttplate have very good original gloss finish & point pattern hand checkering. ERR bbl. code indicates October, 1946 mfg. CONDITION: 97% blue that has a brighter polish than normally seen on Remington rifles shows light slide wear. Wood has very good finish & checkering. Sound mechanics. Very good bore. PROVENANCE: The estate collection of Don "Duck" Combs. (24-2429/DS). CURIO. $9,500-12,500.
