John Banovich, a long-time donor and supporter of Safari Club International and the Safari Club International Foundation, has generously created a new painting titled "The Titan" for the 2025 SCI Auction. Banovich, a past recipient of the CJ McElroy Award and former SCIF advisory board member, has dedicated his career to conservation through the Banovich Wildscapes Foundation, bringing the plight of wildlife and wild places to a global audience through his evocative art. In "The Titan," Banovich captures the raw emotion and spirit of the African elephant in sepia tones, a choice that reflects the earthy landscapes of Africa and evokes a timeless connection to the savanna. The 24x36 inch oil painting on Belgian Linen uses light and shadow to distill the elephant’s soulful presence, capturing Africa’s contrasts of sun and shadow, vastness and intimacy. This sepia-toned piece offers viewers a fresh perspective on the beauty and strength of Africa's wildlife, underscoring Banovich’s passion for Africa’s timeless beauty and the delicate balance between nature and survival.
