Original roll dye by the American Bank Note Co. for printing labels on cartridge boxes. The art work includes the image of a First or Transitional Model American top break large frame .44 Single Action revolver. This dye is numbered 2395 with exceptional artwork with small engraved panels in each upper corner; one with the S&W logo and one with a grizzly bear. The engraving is dated 1871. A great piece of ephemera for both S&W and cartridge collectors. Would be great to reprint the label on a piece of fine stationary to accompany the dye. Est.: $400-$800.
