. Cal. 12 Ga. 2-3/4". S# 33298 (1968). The 26" mono-bloc barrels are fitted with matted ventilated rib and are ported. Maker's name and address are on top left of mono-bloc. Bottom of mono-block is stamped with 1968 Italian nitro proofs for 2-3/4" chambers. Coin finished low profile MX-8 action is of early production as action was named after the Mexico City Olympics of 1968. Action features removal trigger/firing group with "V" springs and non-selective single trigger. Safety is non-automatic. Action is engraved in SC3 style with attractively cut large flowing shaded scroll which surrounds game scenes on sides and bottom. Left side portrays a trio of dogs; two setters and a pointer, all pointing a pair of nested quail. Right side shows setter and pointer watching a flock of departing quail; while the bottom portrays a pair of ducks settling into a marsh. No engraver's signature is found. Straight grip buttstock made of attractively marbled and lightly figured European walnut measures 14" over solid red "Decelerator" pad. Point pattern checkering is at grip. Matching one piece beavertail type forend has Deeley type release. MEASUREMENTS: BBLS: Bore Diameter: O .725. U .725. Restriction: O .004 (IC). U .004 (IC). Wall thickness: O .026. U .028. STOCK: DAH: 2-1/16". DAC: 1-7/16". CAST: about 1/4" off. LOP: 14". WEIGHT: 7 lb. 9 oz. CONDITION: fine as partially refinished. Barrels retaining nearly of a new re-black. Action shows some light cleaning with some remaining frosting in beads. Stocks retain most of their original finish with some areas worn through on high edges. Checkering shows moderate wear. Bores are bright and shiny. Action is tight although top lever stops a considerable distance left of center. Mechanically good. There is some discoloration from chemical bleed out on interior of forend iron with some rusting evident at front of mono-bloc left side of bottom barrel. (23-2177/MGM). C&R. $6,000-9,000.
