SEMI-AUTOMATIC PISTOL. Cal. 9mm Para. S# 3647a. Bbl. 4". Standard configuration P.08 Luger semi-automatic pistol, mfg. or reworked by DWM in 1920. The bbl. extension is marked "1920" over the chamber, with Weimar Eagle/AYA4 proofs stamped on the right. Toggle is marked with the intertwined "DWM" monogram. Front grip strap is police unit marked "S.Hn.II.10.55.", indicating issue to the Hannover Shutzpolizei. Major metal components exhibit a rust blue finish, with some smaller components exhibiting either a straw or nitre blue finish. Frame is mounted with 2-piece checkered wood grips. Blade front sight with V-notch rear sight. Nearly all numbers are matching and include the frame, takedown lever, sideplate, trigger, safety lever and bar, hold-open latch, bbl., the bbl. extension, trigger bar, breechblock, firing pin, and toggles. Grips and mag. do not match. MAGS: 1 blued aluminum bottom 8-rd. CONDITION: metal components retain the majority of their arsenal blue finish, exhibiting areas of wear and thinning that show through to gray patina, as well as small scattered spots of light surface oxidation and pitting overall. Strawed parts exhibit a gray patina, with scattered spots of age-related discoloration. Relatively bright bore, exhibiting consistent mild to moderate pitting while retaining good rifling throughout. Grips show smoothing, as well as some scattered marks and minor impressions from handling and storage, but otherwise remain sturdy and serviceable. (24-4061/MLW). CURIO. $1,000-1,500.
