BELT & KNOT. Overall length: 34 1/4". Blade length: 27 7/8". Etched blade with a single medium fuller. Etching includes various foliate, patriotic, and naval devices. Ricasso is etched "(logo) VANGUARD GERMANY" and "STAINLESS PROVED (logo)". Heavily gilded brass hilt with pierced guard showing oak leaves, acorns, and "USN". Dolphin quillon and top of the knuckle bow. Pommel has an eagle and 13 stars at the cap. Gold bullion sword knot is attached. Gilded brass-mounted scabbard. The black leather belt has a simulated two-piece interlocking Naval officer’s buckle and is complete with sword straps. CONDITION: blade shows original factory polish. Hilt and knot show very light wear. Scabbard generally shows light wear but has heavy oxidation on the tip and drag. Belt and buckle show light wear overall and are complete. (02-22680/BF). $250-400.
