Cal. 16 Ga., 2 9/16" / 8x57 JR (.318" groove diameter). S# 277913. The 25 3/4" bbls. are fitted with full length matted rib holding pop up U-notch rear & silver bead front sights. Claw scope bases have been added. Rifle caliber is engraved on milled out portion of rib. Tops of bbls. are marked "KRUPP-LAUFSTAHL". Bbl. flats are stamped with April 1937 German Nitro proofs for 16 Ga. and 8x57 cartridge. Case hardened scallop backed blitz action features rifle selector on top tang, Greener type side safety, pin cocking indicators, crossbolt 3rd fastener and double triggers (front set). Action is engraved with bits of scroll with maker's name and address on both sides. Sauer Suhl logo is on trigger plate. Rnd. knob buttstock of slightly stump figured European walnut measures 14 3/4" over brown "Frankonia" open sided pad. Stock features small right hand cheekpiece and point pattern checkering at grip. Sling loops are on toeline and bottom of bbl. Matching slim forend has Deeley release. Drilling comes equipped with Kahles Helia-Super 6x scope with 3 post and crosshair reticle in soldered on claw mounts. MEASUREMENTS: BBLS: Bore Diameter: R .664", L .664". Restriction: R .014" (LIGHT MOD), L .023" (MOD). Min. Wall Thickness: R .029", L .032". STOCK: DAH: 2 5/8". DAC: 1 5/8+". LOP: CAST: neutral. WEIGHT WITHOUT SCOPE: 7 lb. 3 oz. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: black plastic case. CONDITION: very good as partially restored. Bbls. retaining nearly all of a good quality reblack. Action shows cleaning with traces of original color in protected areas, the balance is a mottled gray with some silvery highlights. Stocks retain most of an old refinish with some subsequent marks. Checkering considerably worn, especially on forend where there are places where it is smooth. Cheeks show repair of a crack on left side and nicely fitted through bolt to prevent further spreading. Bores are shiny, right showing frosting toward breech end, rifle bore is good, shiny with light pitting toward breech end. Action is tight. Mechanically good. Scope reblued and retains nearly all of that blue. Ocular bell with some marks in its original lacquer. Optically clear. (22-5022/MGM). CURIO. $1,200-1,800.
